Is There a Final Fantasy 14 Trial?
Square Enix has extended the Final Fantasy XIV online free trial period by an extra month because of the MMORPG game’s current state. Both critics and fans have responded less than favorably in general to the game. Square Enix is both game developer and publisher of FF14 online.
Final Fantasy XIV online was launched in North America, Europe and Japan on September 21, 2010. Players and fans have complained of several problems such as time lag, sparsely populated zones, user interface deficiencies, missing or lack of guides and explanations for systems and various other issues.
Suggested solutions to the missing guides problems are Chrono Guide at ChronoGuideReview.com or FFXIV Domination at FFXIVDomination.org or FFXIV Mastery Guide at FFXIVMasteryGuide.org. These are complete Final Fantasy 14 leveling and Gil guides to give you the FFXIV secrets to total FFXIV domination on your server. Get these FFXIV mastery guide downloads at the links provided.
Critics and reviewers have also faulted the online game with phrases like “unfinished product”, unacceptable and a travesty. In fact, the game’s aggregate Metacritic score is 54 currently. This is the lowest score for any of the Final Fantasy franchise games. An unfortunate world record!
Square Enix is extending the game’s free trial period from 30 to 60 days. This applies to players who bought Final Fantasy XIV online and who have registered for an account before October 25, 2010. This is “compensation” for FF14 players as Square Enix changes features to remedy the game using the feedback from both players and critics. The PC game version comes as a $49.99 standard package. There is also a collector’s edition priced at $74.99. The subscription-based MMORPG game imposes a monthly charge of $12.99.
Square Enix released a statement saying:
“Considering the nature of much of the feedback we received … and the current state of the game, we have decided to extend the free trial period for all users. We would like to assure players that the world of Final Fantasy XIV is constantly growing and evolving, and the voices of the community are essential to that process.”
Square Enix further added:
“The development and management teams are carefully considering all player feedback, and working diligently to implement whatever changes and additions will serve to make Eorzea a better home for adventurers. We humbly ask for your continued support to this end.”
